Phil Takes A Spill

Phil Mickelson slips on the rocks on Pebble Beach’s 18th hole.

Standing on the 18th tee at Pebble Beach in the third round of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am, Phil Mickelson was -4 and safely inside the cutline. Then he blocked his tee shot left into the Pacific.

Phil went down to look for his ball and this happened…

WOW…It’s funny because Phil’s ok, no injuries.

But adding insult to near-injury, Phil did not find his ball on the rocks and had to drop just in front of the tee. His third shot came up short of the waste bunker along the left edge of Pebble’s 18th. ANother drop. His fifth shot was hooked to the right and Phil took 3 to get down from there for a triple bogey 8. Remember how he was safely inside the cutline? This 18th hole fiasco dropped Mickelson to -1. All’s well that ends not so well in this case as the cut was -1 so Phil will stick around for Sunday’s final round.
