You may have heard rumors about TaylorMade-Adidas’ epic “booth” (not nearly descriptive enough, mind you) from the PGA Merchandise Show. DimpleHead was there to take in all of the sights and sounds of the 100,000 square foot “booth”. All of the brands under the TM-a golf umbrella were represented: TaylorMade Golf, Adidas Golf, Ashworth and recently acquired Adams Golf and YES! Putters (a separate post on Adams/YES! can be found here). There was an indoor driving range for TaylorMade gear as well as Adams gear. There were two putting greens, one for YES! Putters and the other for TaylorMade’s Ghost line of putters. The four newest products from TaylorMade each had their own booth, the R1 driver, Rocketballz Stage 2 metalwoods, Lethal golf ball (complete with a security guard) and the Rocketbladez irons. On this post you’ll find pictures, interview and info about all of the TaylorMade-Adidas golf products from the PGA Show.
Even the entrance was different…a darkly-lit tunnel
Once you entered the TaylorMade area, you see the bar with TVs showing the Farmers Insurance Open
Here is LPGA star Paula Creamer talking about her new Rocketbladez irons.
The Rocketbladez irons feature a Speed Pocket in the sole of the 3-7 irons to help launch the ball. The pocket allows these game improvement irons to retain a smaller, classic look.
Here is the entrance to check out the new Lethal ball. The security guard checks to see if you own TM products, everything is marketing.
Here is the new Lethal Ball from TaylorMade. It’s the follow-up to last year’s TP-5 and will be in the bags of TaylorMade TOUR staffers.
Here is DimpleHead’s interview with TaylorMade’s Trevor Reimer discussing the Lethal Ball.
The R1 driver is TaylorMade’s newest member in the R-family. Like its predecessors it features adjustability in the hosel for the loft, and adjustable sole plate for the face angle and moveable weights. The club also has the white crown and a racing stripe.
Finally, one of the hottest new shoes on the market, the Adi-zero. Adidas staffers at the Qatar Masters and Farmers Insurance Open were wearing these shoes the week of the PGA Show.
Here is DimpleHead’s interview with Catherine Selene from Adidas talking about the Adi-Zero.
